Kangaroos

I doubt there is any other country that culls millions of their national icon each year. We need a royal commission.

• Are the population numbers accurate?
• Are they harming agriculture?
• Is “increased rainfall” a legitimate reason for increased numbers?
• Was the population size self-regulating prior to the arrival of Europeans?
• Re-introducing extinct predators?
• Contraception?
• Finding more humane ways of reducing numbers (instead of bashing babies heads against the sides of trucks…)

We are not saying we have an answer. We are saying it is our national icon, and we should look into this a lot more than we do.
