Major Policies
So far these policies are the work of one person. If this were to ever become a real political party, expect these to be changed to some degree so that they represent the ideologies of the membership.
Having said that, consider these a starting point, and that prospective members would be attracted to this party because of the policies as written here.
Beginning with the economy we have:
Luxury Tax – do you hear anyone complain about the luxury tax on cars? Lets expand the luxury tax.
Long-Term Rent Bonuses – replace negative gearing by incentivising longer residential rental agreements
A State-Owned Bank – to keep the Big 4 honest
Digital Currency – a workable way of making the promise of BitCoin really work
Removing tax exemptions for religious organisations – which will save many millions
Foreign Ownership Sales Tax – less profits shipped overseas
And for social reform we have
Reward-based Social Welfare – instead of the current punishment model. Get paid a bonus for getting a job 🙂
End Homelessness – for one of the richest countries in the world, homeless is unacceptable. Radical ideas worthy of trying.
Health – modern, team-based solutions. Reduce emergency department queues. End the over-prescription of antibiotics
Living Wages for Artists – universal income is almost certainly a part of our future. Lets start with artists.
Gender Equality – a plan to improve the numbers of women in leadership roles, without sacrificing being a present parent
Aboriginal Australians – current government efforts to improve the lives of marginalised indigenous Australians are failing. There is so much more that can be done, and we would like to be the party of choice for Aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders.
Get Rid of Pokies – it is unethical to derive government income from a “pastime” that destroys lives.
